Swimming Alone

It’s good to be with others, and sometimes it’s fine to follow the crowd. But sometimes we have to summon the courage to swim alone. And that means going against the tide of popular opinion in order to do what we believe is right -- whether we're choosing a career, taking a stand on an issue, or making unconventional choices with our clothes.

Swimming alone means trusting our instincts and following our hearts, even when everyone around us thinks we're crazy.

I'm pretty sure that's not what this duck was thinking as it swam under the bridge. But it's what came to mind for me as I watched it.

been looking at this photo on and off all week. The duck is paddling ahead, as we all should. Butis there a bit of caution? Perhaps it is more comfortable staying in the shadows close to the wall. Wise strategy I think

Paul, as I look at this photo, I see peace, serenity, and beauty. This duck is just effortlessly gliding through the water, taking in every thing around him. Making me wish I were a duck today.

Paul, this was the first thing I read this morning. It stayed with me all day. Just what I needed for encouragement & inspiration. Thank you!
