A Two-Month Sabbatical

I’ll be taking a break from Paul’s Reflections during June and July, which will allow me to focus on three projects that have been on the back burner for a while:
(1) Launch an Online Gallery Store
My wife Bonnie is a skilled woodworker who designs and crafts beautiful bowls, vases and other custom pieces. For the past few years, she and I have been talking about creating an online gallery that will feature her woodworking along with my photography prints for sale. We have a name for our gallery and we have a URL reserved for the website — now we have to roll up our sleeves and make this online store happen.
(2) Create a Book of Paul’s Reflections
Several kind readers have suggested that I should compile a book of my favorite essays and accompanying photos from this blog. I’m finally going to get it started. My plan is to make the book available on Blurb or other self-publishing source — or, more ambitiously, to see if a publisher may be interested.
(3) Cull the Best Photos from My Archives
I’ve amassed a huge library of images from the many years I’ve been photographing. Even though I've been marking my preferred choices with flags and color labels after I finish each photo shoot, it's still a lot to wade through. I want to go through my full archive and, with a critical eye, select a manageable number that I’d like saved for posterity.
So that's what I'll be working on. I don't expect to finish all three projects by the end of July, but I hope to get some strong momentum going.
I hope you have a great summer, my friends. As Michael Scott said on The Office, “Catch you on the flippity flip!”
Photographer's Footnote: I photographed these cats resting on a street in Cotija, Mexico in 2015.
